Q This discussion addresses the following outcomes: • Define the concept of “Manifest Destiny” and examine its role in American expansionism into Texas and other Mexican territories. However, the Mexican-American War and westward migration did not benefit all. The concept of manifest Destiny states that the United States has been destined by God to expand all over the Northern Territory. This meant that the United States will spread its control and increase its democracy in the North American continent. This was created in the 19th century in order to justify the removal of Native Americans. This term was given by editor John L. O Sullivan in his magazine The United States Magazine and Democratic Review in 1845. The idea behind the Manifest Destiny was the annexation of Texas and then also the Oregon county where there was a dispute with Britain.
