The basic purpose of the criminal law is to protect the people from unauthorized activities such as illegal access to the private and confidential data, protecting the important business information, avoiding social engineering attacks, and vice versa. There are various laws against cybercrime currently available and the most important law for data protection is known as GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). This law was passed in the assembly of the EU (European Union) and it is considered a strict law against illegal activities.
